Mindful Memorial Day Foundation
Mindful Memorial Day Foundation (MMDF) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded by Ben King in 2014. Mindful Memorial Day is an observance to honor fallen warriors through mindfulness. Only by devoting our fullest attention to the sacrifices of this generation of warriors can we begin to appreciate their importance to the citizens and institutions they died to protect.
Each Memorial Day weekend, MMDF gathers in the The Women in Military Service for America Memorial at Arlington Cemetery.
We hang yellow ribbons and fallen warrior cards—one for each service member killed in-theater since September 11, 2001.
Volunteers present each visitor with a card and ribbon and guide visitors through a mindful moment of gratitude.
The Bridge Project
The Bridge Project, a volunteer effort coinciding with Mindful Memorial Day, aims to recruit as many volunteers as there are fallen warriors buried in Arlington Cemetery who died in-theater since September 11, 2001. As of January 1, 2017, that number is 878.
Also known as The Honor Brigade, this corps of 878 volunteers will join together on Memorial Day weekend in Arlington Cemetery and honor each of the 878 fallen warriors with an individual, graveside mindful moment of gratitude.
We are currently recruiting members for The 2017 Honor Brigade set to fulfill its mission on Saturday, May 27, 2017. Sign up below!
